Carson Group has recruited another LPL Financial executive to join its team as chief marketing strategist, according to a news release.

Ryan Detrick, who had been with LPL for six years, served as chief marketing strategist for the past two years. Late June, he announced on LinkedIn that he had left LPL but declined to elaborate on his next move. He revealed the move to Carson in a post on Twitter today. “On my way to Omaha now to get rolling and have some fun!” he said in the post.

Detrick follows Burt White, who joined Carson Group's executive board in April as managing partner and chief strategy officer. White was the managing director and chief investment officer at LPL for 14 years.

“Detrick will be responsible for advancing the company’s research team, delivering market insights and expanding the Carson Group investment platform,” the nrews release said. He will work with the firm’s investments team to provide research and guidance that drives growth for the 130-plus partners who collectively manage $20 billion in assets, it said.

“Carson’s investment team is one of the best in the industry and I look forward to working with them,” Detrick said in a statement. “We have an exciting opportunity to change the way the industry talks about market research and wealth management. I want to take complex market data and make it easy for the average investor to understand and share it in a way that is simple to digest.”

White said he has known Detrick for more than a decade and is excited about what he brings to the team. “Ryan is a trusted voice in the industry, providing timely market insights, commentary and investment strategies to support advisors and their clients,” he said. “His strong relationships and expertise will help enhance our industry-leading wealth management offering and further our mission of being the most trusted in financial advice.”
