Cresset, a fee-only RIA based in Chicago, has hired former J.P. Morgan advisors Craig Abraham, Jon McCumber and Alex Smith, a company spokesman announced today in an email.

Abraham has joined Cresset’s Chicago office as managing director, wealth advisor. Prior to joining Cresset, Abraham, who earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Michigan State University, spent 17 years with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Chicago as executive director and senior banker.

McCumber joins Cresset’s Chicago office as managing director, wealth advisor. Prior to joining Cresset, McCumber was an executive director and investment specialist with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Chicago. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Pomona College.

Smith has joined Cresset’s San Francisco office as managing director, wealth advisor. Prior to joining Cresset, he spent more than 11 years with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in New York and in San Francisco. He received a bachelor's degree in finance and management information systems from the University of Delaware.

Cresset also hired two attorneys who will provide the firm’s clients with wealth management services.

Alyse Reiser Comiter has joined Cresset’s West Palm Beach, Fla., office as managing director, wealth strategist. Prior to joining Cresset, Comiter was a shareholder and attorney with Gunster, a law firm in West Palm Beach, Fla. Comiter earned an LL.M (Master of Laws) degree in taxation from New York University. She is a member of the Florida and New York bars.

Sarah Simon has joined Cresset’s San Francisco office. She will focus on presale planning, trust and estate tax planning and alternatives strategy and due diligence. Simon previously served as an advisor with Coastal Bridge Advisors in Westport, Conn. She earned a J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
