New York-based Snowden Lane Partners, an independent wealth advisory firm, has announced the opening of its 11th U.S. location in Chicago, and the addition of The Boyd Richard Group, led by Thomas Boyd and James S. Richard, which will be based in the new office, according to a company release.

Boyd and Richard, previously from JP Morgan Securities, where they oversaw $180 million in client assets with a focus on individuals, corporate executives and business owners, join Snowden Lane as partners and managing directors, the release said. It added that both advisors also worked at Credit Suisse.

“Over the years, Jim and Tom’s business reputation has been exemplary and anyone who knows them understands their client-first approach to wealth management and why that’s a glove fit for Snowden Lane,” Lyle LaMothe, Snowden Lane’s chairman, said in a statement. “We’re excited to have them join and doubly excited for this to be our first Midwest office. We look forward to more good news as we look ahead to 2020.”

Rob Mooney, Snowden Lane’s managing partner and CEO, noted that the firm has experienced significant growth and a Chicago presence will help expand its national footprint in another key metropolitan market.

Founded in New York in 2011, Snowden Lane Partners' other offices are located in Pasadena and San Diego, Calif.; New Haven, Conn.; Coral Gables, Fla.; Pittsburgh; Baltimore, Salisbury and Bethesda, Md.; and San Antonio, Texas. The firm is led by LaMothe, Mooney and Greg Franks, managing partner, president and COO.
