The Charles Schwab Financial Planning Training Center at Temple University is now open to students.

The training center, which was dedicated Wednesday, was funded by a $250,000 grant from the Charles Schwab Foundation. The center is part of Temple’s Fox School of Business and will focus on education, outreach, research and innovation in the financial services field.

Schwab Advisor Services said the grant is part of its efforts to engage and develop the next generation of advisor talent. As part of this effort, the Charles Schwab Financial Planning Suite at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business was opened in September.

Schwab’s partnership with Temple supports education that promotes fiscal responsibility and money management, and helps develop the next generation of advisor talent and create awareness of the industry, Schwab says. The grant was used to retrofit space for the training center and to purchase 75 laptops.
