The S&P 500 rose 0.4 percent as of 10:44 a.m. in New York. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index increased 1.1 percent. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 0.7 percent.
Currencies
The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index fell 0.4 percent. The euro declined 0.2 percent to $1.2379. The Japanese yen increased 0.9 percent to 106.88 per dollar. South Africa’s rand jumped 1.5 percent to 11.7887 per dollar.
Bonds
The yield on 10-year Treasuries rose five basis points to 2.88 percent. Germany’s 10-year yield was little changed at 0.74 percent.
Commodities
West Texas Intermediate crude rose 0.6 percent to $59.52 a barrel. Gold rose 1.4 percent to $1,347.90 an ounce for the biggest gain since August.
